A New Standard in Holistic Care for Children and Young People

It is with great pride that we introduce Myka Place, a dedicated care home operating under Kalon Meraki, built to provide safe, stable, and healing-centered placements for children with disability, medical complexity, and those involved with the child protection system.

Myka Place was created in response to a critical need in our community—for a care setting that combines clinical capability with deep emotional nurture, cultural safety, and family-style living. At the heart of Myka is the belief that every child deserves to feel loved, secure, and seen—regardless of their journey or the complexity of their needs.

Our Services Include:

  • Emergency, Crisis, and Short-Term Placements (including 24/7 admission)
  • Permanent and Long-Term Therapeutic Placements
  • Specialist Day Respite
  • NDIS respite
  • A Purpose-Built Nursery Suite for infants and toddlers aged 0–4
  • Culturally Safe Care, with emphasis on First Nations identity and Return to Country principles
  • Trauma-Informed Practice embedded across every interaction

Reunification Support

At Myka Place, we believe that wherever it is safe, appropriate, and in the child’s best interest, reunification with family should be gently supported and actively nurtured. Our team works closely with child protection services, families, and carers to provide structured, emotionally safe reunification pathways tailored to each child’s needs and life story. This includes supervised contact visits, therapeutic preparation for transitions, and family re-engagement strategies that honour identity, cultural connection, and developmental readiness. We walk alongside children and their families, helping to rebuild trust, restore relationships, and ensure that reunification is not rushed but rooted in healing

amd lasting.
